Message from DCCSC Chair, Diane Kinyon

As we enter 2019, we find the President of the United States being investigated for being a Russian asset, and possible conspiracy to cover up Russia’s attack on our 2016 Election. The White House and Cabinet are being operated by a majority of “acting” employees, and the President is hiding notes about his meetings with Putin from his own staff.  The President’s cynical attacks on immigrants and people of color have resulted in a government shutdown that hurts everyone, and benefits no one. Serious and dangerous times in the USA.

Often in Shasta County, it seems like a grim task to change the balance of voter registration. But the 2018 Midterm Elections were a huge win for us, even though Audrey Denney won’t be going to Congress—yet.  Democrats across the United States flipped the House!  We won with Governors! We won state seats all over! We increased Democratic votes in every county in CD1. WE WON EVERYWHERE. And the fight to remove the monster continues, because we are on the right side of history.
